Union Pacific's one of a kind Diesel-Electric Locomotive #1982! - Painted to commemorate the Missouri Pacific Railroad. The "Mo-Pac" was a significant contributor to the growth of Wichita since it's arrival in 1883. A big thank you to our sponser, Union Pacific Railroad, for bringing #1982 to Railfest!

ATTRACTIONS FOR THIS YEAR:
The Great Plains Transportation Museum will be hosting the second annual Kansas Railfest September 22nd & 23rd, 2018.
Because of construction around the Union Station Complex, this year's event will be within the confines of the Great Plains Transportation Museum at 700 East Douglas. The focus of this year's event will be entirely on trains and will feature some special attractions and activities.
Admission is only $10.00 for age 13 and over. Kids 12 and under are free!

A real, operating steam locomotive!
Lehigh Valley Coal Company #126, nicknamed "Sadie," will be on site and operating for Railfest. You can also take a short ride through the Railfest grounds. This a rare opportunity to see AND RIDE an authentic coal fired steam locomotive!
Note - Due to the costs associated with bringing in the locomotive and its operation, there will be a separate charge to ride the steam locomotive.
Ride tickets are :
$10 for ages 13 and up
$5 for ages 3-12
2 and under are free when not occupying a seat.
